FTP FAQ

Question

• What settings do I need to know in order to FTP to my website?
• Once logged in where do I upload my website to?
• Can I use features found in MS Frontpage to create my website?

Answer

You will need to know the following : Hostname= This is your full domain name e.g. www.domainname.com, Username and Password= This will be the same username and password that you use for email and dial-up (if you are unsure email or call technical support), Port Number= This should always be 21, Active or Passive mode= You should use Active mode.

Once your logged in with FTP you should be in your home directory in here you will see a folder called public_html this is where you should upload your site to.

Yes, You can but you must make sure your website has Frontpage server extensions installed. You can find this out by contacting Technical Support.
